In the Paint Creative was founded by Kat Chen Mason, a creative director who believes the best ideas aren't created in isolation…they're built together.

Growing up in Queens as the daughter of Taiwanese immigrants, Kat found herself pulled between two worlds. Basketball gave her confidence. Design gave her a voice. Together, they became the foundation of a career creating work that connects people through sport.

After spending years designing for one of the world's biggest sports brands, collaborating with elite athletes, global campaigns, and championship events, Kat realized the work she loved most wasn't just creating beautiful design, it was building something meaningful alongside the people behind it.

That's why In the Paint exists.

Today, Kat leads every project personally, partnering closely with brands, athletes, and organizations to uncover what makes them different before a single concept is created. Every engagement is collaborative, rooted in conversation, curiosity, and trust. Because the strongest creative isn't handed over, it’s built together.
